Our Approach

Running a construction project is not just about which end of a hammer to use. It’s about managing people and the process. It means establishing an environment that is conducive to extracting the best job performance from subcontractors, it’s about managing client’s expectations, it’s about establishing and maintaining relationships.

Residential

Your house is valuable. Not only in terms of its monetary worth, but more importantly as the place you call home. Who are you going to trust it with? Is it only about the lowest bid?

Hiring a tradesman for small repairs is one thing, hiring a builder is quite another.

We will ask questions about a project that may cause potential clients to rethink their investment altogether and we’re ok with that. That’s integrity.

As a custom builder, we work to find the vacant land or residential parcel that best suits specific needs and aspirations. We work directly with the engineers, surveyors, city inspectors, architects and agents; providing ideas and input every step of the way. Our job is to know more about the entire project than anyone else.

When a project involves working on an existing property, the same rules apply.

Commercial

We are experienced in the vast array of processes that often precede any development, as well as tackling the inevitable obstacles that present themselves once a project is underway. To name a few; Public Hearings, Annexations, PUD’s, Special Use Permits, Variances, Health Departments, DCFS, IEPA Permits, IDOT and the list goes on.

Scheduling and completion dates are important no matter what the arena, but commercial projects deadlines often entail more severe consequences. They affect the ability of a business to operate, and thus carry with them an often panicked approach to scheduling and completion. We get it, and it’s our responsibility to get your doors opened for business.

Testimonials

I am an architect and I have worked with Greg Miller and MH Development on an on-going basis over the last decade. When my clients ask for a referral I don’t hesitate to refer MH Development. My reputation also relies on having a good contractor bring my designs into reality and this is something MH Development has done time and time again with excellence. I find Greg to be the ultimate professional and wouldn't hesitate to refer him on any project both residential and commercial. If you are looking for an honest, detail orientated, creative and hard working company then give MH Development a call.

Colleague, 2014

MH Development built our first home. Greg was a professional and a true pleasure to work with. He is very knowledgeable and was able to walk us through each aspect of the building process. Greg was always budget- conscious without allowing any details to be overlooked. My husband and I would recommend him to anyone looking to build their dream home.

Batavia, 2012

Finding the right person to remodel your home means not only finding a person with the talent and skills for the job, but also the ability to understand what the client wants. Our home was built in the 1850s and presented many challenges. But Greg grasped that challenge and did a beautiful job of modernizing our home while maintaining its original integrity.
From the beginning, we were given a clear sense of what was (or wasn't) feasible, how long the project would take and how much it would cost. They implemented our ideas, combined them with the existing structure and used their talents to add beauty, functionality and value to our home.

St. Charles, 2009

MH Development started working immediately and finished the project smoothly, ahead of time and within our budget. We've already recommended them to many of our friends, and they have had a variety of projects finished with great success also.

Geneva, 2008

We would not have been able to build our dream house if it wasn’t for Greg and MH Development. We came to him with an architectural plan for a tear-down renovation in Saint Charles that was completely over our budget, and he brought the construction insight and design creativity to the table that was needed to make it work for us.
